Electric Fusion

Electric Fusion Bournemouth is my Final Major Project for university that I have been working on for the past 7 months. Electric Fusions vision was to create a performance where different genres of artists and performers work together. Involving classical, contemporary and modern dance within the same performance. We commissioned the band 'The Gentle Mystics' to write a piece of music that would work with our aims. They chose to re-write The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky. 

The performance started off with a solo by ballerina Chanti Porter. It progressed to a solo contemporary performance by Jack Andrew and evolved in to a group contemporary dance by a group of seven others from Storm dance. The styles changed and followed the mood of the music. The middle section finished with a duo who brought it forward to the modern style, Street Dance. The last section was performed by three street dancers. There relationship with the beats and tones was unique. 

The dancers were accompanied by live music. The movement and sound followed a cruccendo. All three styles were incorporated and flowed together seamlessly.
